Why we do not Advertise Bounce House Prices Online
Astro Jump of Metro DC gets many customers who ask us why we don’t advertise our prices for bounce houses, inflatable water slides and other types of inflatables and concession rentals. Some of our competitors do advertise their prices and some people wonder why we don’t do the same thing.
Inflatables come in every shape and size. Especially when you are considering an inflatable waterslide, obstacle course, dry slide or other large event inflatable, the sizes are large and often times uniquely shaped. We believe that it is impossible for most customers to make an educated decision on which piece will be best for their party based on a small one inch picture on the internet. We regularly have customers who call wanting something and then realize after a brief conversation with us that the inflatable they had in mind is completely inappropriate for their party. We do not advertise our prices because we do not want that to be a consideration when choosing a piece until we can verify with our customer that it is an appropriate inflatable for their party.
For example, everyone loves our cliff hanger giant slide. We get people who call all the time asking to rent it. When we ask them about their party and they say it is for their one year old, we have to quickly inform them of the size of the slide and suggest another piece. If we had the price advertised on the website for the cliff hanger, it is likely that customers would choose the piece and have the family conversation about whether or not to spend the money to rent it. Who knows how long that conversation would take (probably a wide range of options :)). Once it is done, however, and they call to book the piece only to find out that it is entirely inappropriate for their party, they have just wasted lots of time discussing options that didn’t even matter. This is why we are here, to help you through this process.
