The Slip N Slide Waterslide Edition

The Slip N Slide Waterslide Edition

June 20, 2013

Have you ever used or seen one of the slip n slides you can buy at toy stores? I remember loving mine as a child. They were/are the long and narrow tarp like thing that you could lay out in your yard and wet with a hose. Children then run and lay out stomach side down and slide across to the end. I remember my yellow slip and slide with great memories. I also remember the blue one I had with a pool at the end. It was a lot more fun sliding into a pool rather than just stopping or sliding onto the grass (making mom angry!). Even though each was fun, both of these slip n slides had a fault in that the ride was only as soft as the surface underneath the slide. This prohibited it from going on pavement and made it completely necessary that there were no obstructions (at all!) under the slide. I remember even the smallest of rocks could hurt if left under the slide.

The primary benefit of an inflatable slip n slide waterslide is the soft and bouncy ride you and the kids have across the slide into the pool. The concept is the same as with the traditional slip n slide, but because the vinyl is inflated you slide much faster, more comfortably, and safer. These waterslides can go on grass, pavement or dirt.

The Double Lane Slip n Splash we offer at Astro Jump is 30 feet long with a pool at the end. We also have a Single Lane Slip n Splash, which has the same dimensions but only one lane to the waterslide. In case you do not like the pool, we also have ones with no pool. All of these waterslide rentals work great for adults, teenagers and older children. Competition runs hot as people duke it out to see who can slide to the end the fastest. How fast you slide depends on how fast you run to the slide and how much you weigh. For this reason, slip n slide waterslides do not typically work well for younger or smaller children.

Certain waterslides like our ‘65 foot Tropical Dual Lane waterslide stand at nearly 30’ tall and need a slip n slide attached to the end of it just to provide a runway for your landing into the pool at the end. The 60’ Roaring River waterslide and the 60’ Tropical waterslide both stand at 22’ tall and also have a slip n slide with a pool at the end. All three of these waterslide rentals are extremely popular for large public events and families with ample space in their yard.
