Should I Hire a Safety Attendant for My Event?

One question that might come to your mind when planning your party is ‘will I need an attendant for my party?’ This is a very valid question, as having an attendant on-site will typically increase safety and will also increase the effectiveness of your inflatable obstacle course or rentals. Having an attendant on-site makes more sense if the event is run by an organization, church, or school, rather than at a residential event.

One of the main factors that should go into this decision, will be to think about how many adults will be watching the guests play on the inflatables. If most parents are able to closely watch their children, then there is not necessarily a need to reserve a safety attendant. If most children are separated from adult supervision, it is recommended that an attendant is there to limit roughhousing, and to keep an eye on capacity per moonbounce.

Another reason you might want to think about having safety attendants will be if multiple inflatables will be on-site at the event. As you can imagine, it can be rather difficult to watch two or three separate inflatables with multiple kids on each. Your contract will show how many attendants/volunteers are necessary to ensure a safe inflatable experience – if you cannot find this, please ask! It is always a good idea to have an attendant or two on-site if there will be lots of young children or a large mix of age groups. Mixing age groups on inflatables can create more risk for guests, but having a safety attendant close by will greatly minimize that risk.
