As fall approaches Astro Jump DC, VA, & MD is gearing up for obstacle course season and beginning to wind down waterslide season. Surely a few more hot weeks remain, but before we know it the fall festival season will be here and cooler days with it. Inflatable obstacle courses often times serve as the main attraction for church fall festivals, back to school events, and community block parties. A typical package we will make for these groups during the fall event season will include a moonbounce or moonbounce combo, obstacle course, interactive or sports inflatable, and at least one concession machine like cotton candy. Each of these inflatable rentals plays an important role at any large event. Today we will discuss the obstacle course, which regularly serves as the center piece or main attraction for an event.
Almost all of our obstacle courses have two lanes from beginning to end. The competition that exists between two challengers is the best part of obstacle courses at large events. Regardless of someone’s age, people love to compete against each other. This competitive spirit, synonymous with the human spirit, drives obstacle course contestants to give each race/run their 100% best. Furthermore, as most events are full of groups of friends, obstacle courses are also fun to watch as your friends take a try.
People of all ages can enjoy the competitive platform an obstacle course rental provides. This is a second reason why obstacle courses are favorites for large events with a diverse crowd. While we don’t recommend that little children and older people race at the same time, there is nothing wrong for groups of younger kids, older kids, and adults each taking their turn with people of similar age/size. Regardless of the size obstacle course, younger children will just take longer to get through than older people, so we typically recommend for large events to get an obstacle course attraction that caters to the middle age of the crowd.
We have a wide range of obstacle courses that cater to all different age groups. We also have moonbounce combos that have obstacles inside as well. These 5N1 moonbounce combos are fun, especially for younger children, because it gives kids the opportunity to jump, shoot hoops, use the slide, and dodge through the obstacles. Our most popular pure-play obstacle courses for elementary school students are the 30’ themed or 30’ castle obstacle courses. These obstacle courses are commonly rented for elementary school carnivals and backyard birthday parties. While these also work well for middle school students, if you are planning a middle school event, you should also consider some of our larger obstacle courses. These large obstacle courses also range in difficulty and some are even great for adult events. Our staff at Astro Jump DC is trained to work with you to make sure you get the appropriate obstacle course for your event. We can provide suggestions and even send out a quote with pictures and links to specific items on our website.
Whether you’re planning a small backyard birthday party or throwing an American Ninja Warrior party, we have an obstacle course that will work for you. On our most extreme end we have a new piece called Leaps & Bounds that is modeled after the popular obstacle challenge, “Wipeout.” Call us so that we can help you plan the perfect birthday party or event with an obstacle course rental!
