Mid Season Moonbounce Rental Report

Virginia, Maryland and Washington DC’s moonbounce rental season unofficially begins on March 1st and ends on Halloween. The busiest times are in May and June when schools are ending and families are getting ready for summer plans. While we are not done with May yet, it seems an appropriate time to give a report card on the season so far since Memorial Day is coming up this weekend.

The 2014 moonbounce rental season started out cold and stayed cold until well into April. We find that fewer people choose to do outside activities in the cold and we can hardly blame them. Cold springs lead people to procrastinate their warm weather party planning as well. As such, when it finally started to get warmer in late April the phones started ringing a lot to make up for lost time. Now that the hot VA, DC and MD summer months are on our doorstep people are starting to inquire about our many inflatable waterslide rentals. When summer’s heat comes to town, moonbounce rentals drop in demand and inflatable waterslide rentals spike. A waterslide rental is a fantastic way to stay cool and have a fun during the hot DC, Virginia and Maryland summers.

May has been a nice month weather wise. We have slugged through some rainy days but mostly the weekends have brought nice weather to our moonbounce delivery area. For the summer we anticipate mostly nice weekends in the DC metro area with the chance of thunderstorms every day. The seasonal rain fronts that cause whole weekends of rain tend to stop around now as the seasons change and the predictably hot summer heat comes. With the heat comes the daily chance of thunderstorms.
